Where the Trees

I am working on a series of short stories that explore the relationship between trees and people.
On the one hand these are personal stories about some notable time I’ve spent up close with trees over the years. On the other hand it’s a canopy-level look at the human relationship with forests, in three places that are at once distinct yet with much in common: Canada, Brazil and Ethiopia.
My intention with this work is to share perspective—intimate and impersonal, joyful and concerned—that puts us in the context of a wider web of life, as a means of appreciating who we are and where we come from. I suppose I also hope to tell a good story or two.
